lyrics

(The tail end of “Casio Conversation” continues but it becomes muffled, as if hearing it through the bedroom door at a party. We hear a couple mid-argument.)
MAN: Why the hell would you say that?
WOMAN: Its true, isn’t it?!
MAN: Why would you bring that up tonight?
WOMAN: Its TRUE, isn’t it?!
MAN: We’re trying to have a fun night out tonight, remember, and you gotta bring that up?! Right now?!
WOMAN: You said “hi” to her!
MAN: So what?! I’ve told you, she’s just a friend now....barely that! What? She says “hi” and I’m just supposed to stare at her?!
WOMAN: (Angered sound of disapproval)
MAN: Christ, I said I was sorry a million times about three months ago! I thought you were past all that! (No response) No?!
WOMAN: (Another angered sound of disapproval, a pause, then) I never want to see you again!
MAN: For real?
WOMAN: (Now on the verge of crying) You don’t care how I feel!
MAN: Are you serious?! You know what, fuck it, I’m outta here! Have a nice night.
(As he walks toward the door, we hear the woman shout after him)
WOMAN: (Crying) No, wait!
(The door slams shut and we immediately cut to outside the house. The music is lower and still muffled. We hear brisk walking and the button tones on a cell phone. Through the following conversation we hear the Man walking to his car getting in it and starting it up)
MAN: Cisco.....hey, I need to get fucked up........Long story. Can I come over? I’ve got money.......Cool, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.
(We hear the beep of the phone hanging up, then a rev, and the car speeding off.)
